About Lymphedema
Lymphedema is swelling that occurs in one or both of your arms or legs. It is painful and is commonly caused by removal of lymph nodes or damage to the nodes.
Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT)
Complete decongestive therapy for lymphedema includes:
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), a hands-on technique to improve flow of lymph fluid from the affected area
Compression with bandages and/or garments
Education in skin care and long-term self-management
Exercise instruction
