San Ramon Regional Medical Center Celebrates Physicians on National Doctors’ Day

Mar 30, 2023

March 30th is National Doctors’ Day, a special time for us to recognize the vital role our physicians play in the well-being of our patients, as well as their invaluable contributions to our hospital and community.

Held every year on March 30th in the United States, National Doctors’ Day celebrates the contributions of physicians. Although President George Bush officially signed Doctors’ Day into U.S. law on October 30, 1990, the first observance was March 30, 1933, in Winder, Georgia. The holiday was conceived by Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, who decided to set aside a day to honor physicians like her husband. March 30th was chosen because it is the anniversary of the day that general anesthesia was first used in surgery by Dr. Crawford W. Long in 1842.

Our medical staff at San Ramon Regional Medical Center continues the tradition of excellence today by providing safe, high-quality care and serving as advocates for our patients. Although we value the opportunity to show our appreciation for our physicians each year on Doctors’ Day, we want them to know we are thankful for their hard work and commitment year-round.

We are grateful to our physicians for their dedication to delivering quality care to each patient who enters our doors. We truly have an outstanding group of physicians who tirelessly care for our patients.

Doctors, thank you for everything you do. We recognize your care and compassion. You make a difference in the lives of our patients each and every day. We appreciate you and we are proud to have you on our team.
