Celebrating 30 Years of Serving the Tri-Valley Area

Feb 4, 2020

San Ramon Regional Medical Center has proudly served the San Ramon Valley and its surrounding communities for 30 years. In fact, we opened our doors on Feb. 14, 1990, and are celebrating our 30th anniversary on Valentine’s Day 2020. In those 30 years, we have expanded our services, upgraded our technology and increased our medical staff – all in an effort to provide an excellent patient experience.

San Ramon Regional Medical Center construction“For the last three decades, our hospital has become well-known for the compassionate and high-quality care we deliver to every person who walks through our doors. On this special anniversary, I want to recognize the hard work and dedication of our physicians, employees, volunteers and community supporters,” said Ann Lucena, CEO of San Ramon Regional Medical Center. “Through their tremendous efforts, they have made our hospital the outstanding institution it is today.”

Located on a hillside overlooking the San Ramon Valley, we are a 123-bed acute care hospital known for providing comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and emergency care. Our facilities include the Family Birthing Center, Outpatient Surgery Center, Breast Center, Infusion Center, Sports Performance Institute, Advanced Wound Center, which houses our hyperbaric oxygen therapy program, Pleasanton Diagnostic Imaging Center, Hacienda Surgery Center and Tresanti Surgery Center.

Always embracing cutting-edge technology and robotics, we utilize our da Vinci Xi Surgical System for minimally-invasive surgeries and our Mako System for advanced joint replacements. San Ramon Regional Medical Center became the first hospital in the Bay Area to purchase the ExcelsiusGPS® system to offer robotic-assisted spine surgery, and also recently acquired the O-arm 2D/3D imaging system and StealthStation S8 surgical navigation system to equip and assist our spine surgeons with the most advanced tools and technology in the operating room. We offer a blood conservation program, unique to the region, and have a life-saving partnership with Donor Network West.

In our 30 years, San Ramon Regional Medical Center has had more than 1.7 million outpatient visits and nearly 94,000 inpatient stays. We currently have more than 600 physicians on our medical staff, 700 hospital employees and 170 volunteers.

San Ramon Regional Medical Center A-TeamWhile we take pride in these achievements, we understand that serving our community goes beyond our hospital walls. We are proud to offer health education classes and seminars throughout the area, and provide community health screenings.

“Our team works hard to create an environment that promotes the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve,” Lucena said. “Beyond the cutting-edge technology and advanced medical and surgical services we offer, our compassion and genuine care are what distinguish us.”

As we reminisce about the last 30 years of serving the Tri-Valley Area, we are optimistic looking forward to the next 30 years.
